The gearbox manufacturing capacity of ZF Wind Power’s manufacturing plant in Coimbatore will be increased from 9 GW to 12 GW. The company will also install a 13 MW test rig at this manufacturing plant.
The test rig will be operational at the beginning of 2025, allowing the company to test all system functions up to 13 MW under both static and dynamic loads. Additionally, ZF Wind Power and ABS Wind, a global company specialising in multi-brand maintenance and repair solutions for wind turbines, have formed a strategic partnership to enhance service provision in North America. This collaboration appoints ABS Wind as the authorised and exclusive partner for workshop repair of gearboxes and components for ZF Wind Power in the USA. Workshop services for the US market will be available at the ABS facility in Big Spring, Texas, USA.
