First Minister John Swinney MSP has officially opened SSE's new Onshore Wind, Solar, and Battery Control Centre at its headquarters in Perth.
This development follows the expansion of SSE Renewables' onshore portfolio to nearly 2.5 GW in 2024, driven by the completion of the 443 MW Viking Wind Farm in Shetland and a 50 MW battery energy storage system in Salisbury.
The new control centre will support SSE Renewables' operational needs, enabling future growth across its onshore wind, solar, and battery projects.
