REpower Systems AG posted gross revenues of € 240.9 million in the first quarter of fiscal year 2008/09 compared to € 105.5 million in the same period of the previous year (comparison period 01 April to 30 June 2008).

Therewith, gross revenues more than doubled within the reporting period. The operating result (EBIT) increased strongly in the reporting period from € 74,600 to € 10.2 million. After taxes and interest this results in positive net earnings of € 5.9 million after € 28,800 in the corresponding period last year. In the period from April to June 2008, they installed and recognised in income 138 wind turbines with a total rated power of 276MW. At the end of the period under review, the order backlog amounted to 718 wind energy turbines (same period of previous year: 509 turbines) with a total rated power of 1,522.6MW (same period of previous year: 1,028MW). This corresponds to a contractually confirmed volume of around € 1.6 billion (as per end of June 2007: € 888.7 million). REpower Group is expecting sales volume to rise to € 1.1?billion in fiscal year 2008/09. The sustained improvement in cost structures and processes within the REpower Group will lead to a further rise in earning power. REpower is therefore expecting an EBIT margin of between 5.5% and 6.5% in 2008/09.
