Moventas and The Switch have announced they are delivering the first commercial order for FusionDrive, their jointly developed gear and generator combination.
The first delivery is going to DeWind a subsidiary of DSME (Daewoo Shipbuilding and Marine Engineering co ltd.).Using medium-speed wind power generation technology, FusionDrive is a small and light combination of the gear and te generator. Studies have confirmed that it is a technically optimized solution to keep the rotational speed limited. FusionDrive requires minimal maintenance. The gear and generator can be split, and all components are changeable in the nacelle.
