GL Renewables Certification (GL RC) has issued a Statement of Compliance for the A-Design Assessment of the Sinovel SL 3000/90 50 Hz offshore wind turbine. The Statement of Compliance confirms that SL 3000/90 meets the requirements of GL RC's "Guideline for the Certification of Offshore Wind Turbines," Edition 2005.
The turbine integrates power generating technologies such as variable speed control, a pitch regulation system, and double-fed inductive generator. The SL3000 series is suitable for onshore, offshore, and intertidal installation, and is designed to be adaptable to a variety of wind energy resource conditions, as well as being available in a cold climate version and 60Hz versions. With a rated power of 3,000kW, a rotor diameter of 90/105/113m and a hub height of 80/90/110m, the SL3000 series employs several patented technologies and has a low-voltage ride-through (LVRT) capability. GL Renewables Certification is also charged with the approval of the Sinovel SL3000 onshore variants, which are currently under certification.
