KF Wind, a 1,125 MW floating offshore wind project being developed off the coast of Ulsan developed by Ocean Winds and Mainstream Renewable Power, has secured Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) approval from the Ministry of Environment for the entire two-phase project.
The EIA was achieved after more than 12 months of onsite monitoring and multiple consultations with local communities, key stakeholders, and fisheries. The project includes 75 turbines, floating foundations, two bottom-fixed offshore substations, and a 4.5-kilometre onshore high-voltage line connecting to KEPCO's Shinonsan substation.
