Windward Offshore signs CSOV contracts with North Star for RWE OM worksWindward Offshore has signed its first charter contracts with North Star for two purpose-built Commissioning Service Operation Vessels (CSOVs), Windward Athens and Windward Paris. The vessels will support RWE’s offshore wind operations in the United Kingdom and Germany under a joint agreement between Windward Offshore and North Star.

Windward Athens will begin service in winter 2025 at RWE’s wind farms north of Helgoland, Germany. Windward Paris will be deployed at the Triton Knoll Offshore Wind Farm off the British coast in summer 2026. Constructed by Vard at its shipyards in Romania and Norway, the vessels are equipped with ultra-low-emission technologies, battery hybrid systems and smart automation. Each CSOV features an Ampelmann W-Type walk-to-work gangway, a 7-tonne motion-compensated 3D crane, and accommodation for up to 120 personnel.
