FabricAir’s BorealisWind Ice Protection System (IPS) has been selected by Pattern Energy to mitigate icing risks and maximise energy production for 15 wind turbines at the Mont Sainte-Marguerite wind farm in the Chaudière-Appalaches region of Quebec, Canada. The BorealisWind IPS is designed to prevent damaging ice build-up on turbine blades, ensuring consistent energy output even in harsh winter conditions.

The systems are provided through FabricAir’s “System as a Service” model, which offers an all-inclusive maintenance and monitoring plan to guarantee performance. Initial deployment of the IPS on two turbines recovered 800 MWh of energy per turbine last winter, leading to an order for 13 additional systems.
