Masdar has entered the Philippines renewables market by signing agreements with the government to develop 1 GW of clean energy projects, further strengthening its growing portfolio in Southeast Asia.
The Implementation Agreement with the Department of Energy and the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Board of Investments of the Philippines outline the development of solar, wind, and battery energy storage systems (BESS) with a total capacity of up to 1 GW by 2030. This agreement marks Masdar’s first venture into the Philippines’ renewables sector.
