Codling Wind Park has submitted its application for Maritime Area Consent (MAC) its offshore wind project. Codling Wind Park is a joint venture between EDF Renewables and Fred. Olsen Seawind and has a maximum installed capacity of up to 1.5GW.
The wind farm will be located approximately 13-22 kilometres off the County Wicklow coast, between Greystones and Wicklow town, Ireland. If the application is successful, it will allow the project to compete in the first Offshore Renewable Electricity Scheme (ORESS) auction, which is due to open later this year, and to submit a planning application to An Bord Pleanála.
