Kish Offshore Wind Limited and Bray Offshore Wind Limited are preparing to submit a planning application to An Bord Pleanála for the Dublin Array offshore wind farm, which will be situated off the coasts of counties Dublin and Wicklow.
The Dublin Array project is a joint venture between RWE and Saorgus Energy, with RWE leading the development on behalf of the partnership. Once fully constructed, the Dublin Array wind farm is expected to generate up to 824MW of renewable electricity. The project will consist of between 39 and 50 wind turbines, located approximately 10 kilometres off the coast of counties Dublin and Wicklow. Subject to obtaining planning permission and a financial investment decision, construction of the Dublin Array wind farm could begin as early as 2027, with operations expected to commence in 2030.
