State-owned energy supplier Landsvirkjun has selected Enercon wind turbines for the installation of a 120 MW wind farm in Iceland.
The contract with Enercon includes the delivery and construction of 28 E-138 EP3 turbines, each with a hub height of 81 metres and a total capacity of 120 MW.
The wind farm will be located in Búrfell, approximately 130 kilometres south of Reykjavik, covering an area of 17 square kilometres. Work on the site will begin this year, with Landsvirkjun focusing on building site roads and preparing the foundations. The first components are expected to be delivered in May 2026, with construction set to begin in the second quarter of that year.
