Envision Energy has announced it has been awarded a 185MW wind energy contract in Argentina's first renewable energy auction, RenovAR. Envision secured 4 projects, totalling 185MW, out of the 708MW awarded along with other international and local bidders such as Genneia, Central Puerto, Pan American Energy, EREN.
RenovAR received a total of 123 project bids, adding up to 6.3GW of available capacity, among which 17 were awarded with 12 going to wind, 4 to solar and 1 to biogas. Envision plans to install 2.5MW wind turbine generators along with its proprietary Wind OS energy management software solution with the support of its newly established Center of Excellence based in Hamburg as well as local partners and subcontractors. The 4 projects are expected to reach commercial operation in the first quarter of 2019.
