The first Nabralift tower components for Fortescue's Nullagine Wind Project have arrived at the Port of Port Hedland in Western Australia. The components will be transported to the project site near Nullagine in the Pilbara region. The self-erecting installation system has already been delivered to the site and is undergoing final field commissioning ahead of the installation of the project's 17 towers.
The 188-metre Nabralift configuration features a modular design that enables transport and installation without the need for large cranes.
Foundation construction has also started for the 17 wind turbines, using piled foundations, preparing the site for tower installation later this year.
Developed by Fortescue as part of its Real Zero strategy, the project will have an installed capacity of 133 MW. It will comprise 17 Envision EN182-7.8 MW wind turbines mounted on Nabrawind's 188-metre Nabralift towers.
