Low Carbon has submitted a Section 36 planning application to the Scottish Government’s Energy Consents Unit for the Forsinain Forest Wind Farm. Located in the Scottish Highlands, 3 km north of Forsinard and 16 km south of Melvich, the proposed site is predominantly within non-native commercial forestry and lies entirely outside the Flow Country UNESCO World Heritage Site.
If approved, the project will comprise up to 12 turbines and associated infrastructure, including new and upgraded access tracks, a substation and on-site construction facilities. The wind farm will have an installed capacity of up to 86 MW and is expected to generate around 318,000 MWh of electricity annually once operational.
