Fugro has been awarded a contract to conduct offshore soil investigations for the proposed Blue Mackerel offshore wind farm in Australia. The project is located off the coast of Brataualung and Tatungalung Country in Gippsland, Victoria.
Fugro will carry out geotechnical investigations to support the development of the Blue Mackerel project, which is being led by Parkwind, part of JERA Nex. The wind farm is expected to have a capacity of 1GW by 2032.
For this project, Fugro will deploy its geotechnical vessel, Fugro Mariner, to collect seabed soil samples. These samples will then be analysed at a Fugro laboratory to inform the project's foundation design and development.
