Ocean Installer, a marine construction and operations company, has been selected by Cerulean Winds to join the alliance developing the Aspen floating offshore wind (FLOW) project in the North Sea.
As part of the project, Ocean Installer will provide engineering expertise and installation services after the final investment decision (FID). Its responsibilities include installing the mooring system, inter-array cable system, and managing the marshalling of floating units during fabrication, tow-out, and hook-up phases.
Ocean Installer will collaborate with fellow alliance member Haventus, which owns the Port of Ardersier, to support dry storage of structures, batched installation, and quick connect/disconnect systems.
Cerulean Winds is leading the development of three 1GW floating wind farms—Aspen, Cedar, and Beech. Once completed, the three sites will host more than 300 turbines, with Aspen being the first to be developed.
