Gamesa has reached an agreement with Polish power company PGE Energia Odnawialna (PGE EO) to sell the Pelplin wind farm (combined installed capacity of 48MW) in northern Poland’s Pomorskie region.
Gamesa’s wind farm development and sales division is currently building the site, which will be powered by 24 G90-2.0MW turbines. Gamesa and PGE EO have agreed that Gamesa will deliver and transfer ownership of the wind farm in the first half of 2012, after construction is completed. Gamesa’s portfolio in Poland totals 677MW of wind farm projects at varying stages of development, 108MW of which are under construction. Gamesa also plans to break ground in 2011 on sites accounting for another 78 MW in Poland.
