Goldwind and TotalEnergies are collaborating on a wind farm project in Tierra del Fuego, Argentina, a region known for its strong winds and challenging weather conditions. This will be the southernmost wind farm in the world, excluding those in Antarctica.
The project will feature GW136-4.2 MW wind turbines, designed to operate in extreme weather conditions. These turbines are scheduled to arrive via the port of Punta Arenas, Chile, in the second quarter of 2025. In addition to wind energy, the project will incorporate battery storage, making it the first hybrid onshore development within TotalEnergies’ Exploration and Production division.
