Iberdrola has inaugurated its operation and maintenance (O&M) centre in Saint-Brieuc, where 80 employees will be based. Located in Binic-Étables-sur-Mer, the centre manages electricity production and maintenance of the wind farm 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.
Initially, some activities will be coordinated with teams from the Goëlo Enabler service vessel (SOV) based in the port of Saint-Malo. In a later phase, operations will be transferred to the port of Saint-Quay-Portrieux, which will accommodate vessels responsible for daily maintenance. Iberdrola will finance the necessary port development works, benefiting the department of Côtes-d'Armor, which owns the port and oversees the project.
The Saint-Brieuc offshore wind farm consists of 62 turbines spread over 75 km², with a total capacity of 496 MW. It generates approximately 1,820 GWh of electricity per year.
