Jera has announced that its consortium has been chosen to develop an offshore wind power project off the coast of Aomori Prefecture, Japan. The wind farm, with a capacity of 615 MW, will be located in the Sea of Japan off the southern side of Aomori Prefecture.
Expected operations are set to begin in June 2030. Jera's partners in the consortium include Green Power Investment (GPI) and Tohoku Electric Power. Jera will further enhance its offshore wind capabilities through Jera Nex bp, an upcoming joint venture with BP, launching in September 2025.
