Masdar and Finnish renewable energy fund manager Taaleri Energia have inaugurated the 154 MW Čibuk 2 wind farm in Serbia’s South Banat region, around 40 km from Belgrade. The project is located alongside the 158 MW Čibuk 1 wind farm, bringing the combined capacity of the two projects to 312 MW.
Together, they represent more than €500 million of foreign investment in Serbia’s energy infrastructure. Čibuk 2 comprises 22 Nordex turbines and is expected to generate up to 336,000 MWh of electricity annually. Masdar also has a development pipeline of more than 200 MW in Serbia, covering solar, wind and battery storage projects.
