The Danish Government and several political parties in the Danish parliament have decided that Hesselø Offshore Wind Farm will be moved to an area south of the original Hesselø area.
The political agreement on the new location is based on a new fine screening, which COWI performed on behalf of the Danish Energy Agency. The fine screening shows, among other things, that the area south of the original Hesselø area is a good alternative, as the seabed is considered to be better suited for erecting the park. At the new location, Hesselø Offshore Wind Farm is expected to be able to start supplying electricity to Danish households in 2028 and be completely completed in 2029.
