PGE, Ørsted, and Istrana have signed a lease agreement for the future T5 terminal in the Port of Gdansk. This terminal will be used for the storage, pre-assembly, and offshore installation of turbine components for the Baltica 2 project.
The lease will start in the fourth quarter of 2026, when construction is scheduled for completion, and will initially run until the end of 2028. The lease covers the entire T5 terminal, which spans 21.3 hectares, with almost half of the area having increased carrying capacity necessary for offshore wind projects.
The terminal's design will allow for the simultaneous use of the total length of quays, including two loading berths for jack-up installation vessels, an unloading quay, and a ramp for unloading ro-ro transport vessels.
Baltica 2 is one of two stages of the Baltica Offshore Wind Farm, alongside Baltica 3. PGE and Ørsted plan to deliver Baltica 2, with a capacity of 1.5 GW, by the end of 2027 and Baltica 3, with a capacity of 1 GW, by 2030. The project is subject to a final investment decision.
