RWE has signed a long-term power purchase agreement with Breedon Group to supply renewable electricity to its operations in the UK. Under the 15-year agreement, RWE will provide around 70 GWh of electricity per year from its wind portfolio to Breedon’s sites across the country.
Power will initially be supplied from the Gwynt y Môr Offshore Wind Farm, located approximately 24 kilometres off the coast of North Wales in the Irish Sea. From 2033, supply will transition to the Brechfa Forest West Wind Farm. The electricity will be used to support the production of aggregates, asphalt, ready-mixed concrete, cement and other construction materials.
