RWE’s proposed 1.1 GW Theodore Wind Farm in Central Queensland, Australia, has received federal approval under the Environment Protection and Biodiversity Conservation (EPBC) Act. The project has now secured all required state and federal approvals and will progress to secondary consents with the local council and other authorities. The EPBC approval includes conditions aimed at protecting biodiversity and managing potential environmental impacts.

Construction is expected to begin in 2027, subject to a final investment decision. The build is expected to take up to four years. The wind farm is expected to create up to 500 construction jobs, around 25 permanent operational roles and approximately 300 indirect jobs over its 30-year operating life. It is also projected to contribute A$500 million to the Queensland economy during construction and provide A$17.5 million in community benefits.
