Nadara has appointed Aker Solutions, through its consultancy business Entr and wholly owned subsidiary Unitech Power Systems, to carry out electrical infrastructure studies for the Bellrock offshore wind farm. The work will support the development of the project's electrical infrastructure concept, helping define an optimised transmission system from offshore power generation to the onshore grid connection.
The study will assess multiple transmission configurations and key elements of the electrical system, including inter-array cables, offshore and onshore substations, export cables and grid integration. It will also provide cost, schedule and supply chain assessments to support procurement planning and further refine the project's electrical infrastructure concept. Entr will contribute project delivery experience and operational data, while Unitech Power Systems will provide specialist electrical power engineering expertise.
Bellrock is a proposed 1.8 GW floating offshore wind project located approximately 120 kilometres off the Aberdeenshire coast.
