SSE has approved final investment decisions for three onshore wind farms in southern Italy and northern Spain, adding 52 MW of capacity to SSE Renewables’ portfolio. In northern Spain, construction will start on the 23 MW Portalrubio Wind Farm and the 19 MW Minguez Wind Farm, both in the Teruel region of Aragón.
The two sites will feature seven Nordex Delta4000 turbines, manufactured at the company’s Barásoain facility, along with supporting wind farm infrastructure. In southern Italy, enabling works are underway at the 10 MW Tuturano Wind Farm in Puglia, which will comprise three Siemens Gamesa turbines.
