Veolia and TotalEnergies have signed a power purchase agreement to support the decarbonisation of municipal water management in Spain. Under the agreement, TotalEnergies will supply more than 350 GWh of renewable electricity annually, backed by guarantees of origin, to more than 3,000 Veolia supply points linked to municipal water services.
Veolia provides drinking water to more than 13.5 million people across more than 1,100 municipalities in Spain. TotalEnergies secured five of the eight lots included in the tender. The agreement has an initial term of three years, with an option to extend it by a further two years. The award doubles the volume of electricity supplied by TotalEnergies to Veolia compared with their first agreement in 2023.
