Vestas has confirmed three wind turbine orders in Finland as part of its fourth-quarter order intake, with a combined capacity of 277 MW. All three projects have been awarded by OX2 and are located in Southern Ostrobothnia, Finland.
The largest order relates to the Kannisto wind farm, where Vestas will supply 20 V162-6.2 MW turbines with a total capacity of 124 MW. Delivery is planned to begin in the second quarter of 2027, with commissioning scheduled from the third quarter of 2027. The project includes a 25-year service agreement.
At the Korkeamaa wind farm, Vestas will deliver a total of 108 MW, comprising 15 V162-6.4 MW turbines and two V162-6.2 MW turbines. Delivery and commissioning are planned to begin in the second quarter of 2027, alongside a 25-year service agreement.
The third order covers the Salo-Ylikoski wind farm, where Vestas will supply seven V162-6.4 MW turbines with a combined capacity of 45 MW. Delivery and commissioning are also scheduled to start in the second quarter of 2027, supported by a 25-year service agreement.
Natural Power has supported OX2 in securing project financing for the wind farms by delivering technical due diligence. Natural Power was appointed to lead the full technical due diligence on all three assets. The scope included the preparation of bank-grade due diligence reports covering turbine supply and service agreements, balance-of-plant contracts, grid connection arrangements, energy yield assessments, design reviews, environmental and permitting considerations, financial model inputs review and Equator Principles compliance.
