The management of Adwen GmbH, a subsidiary of Siemens Gamesa Renewable Energy (SGRE), has announced plans for reorganisation. The currently 480 positions in Germany will be reduced by 260.

Implementation of this reorganisation should be completed by the end of September 2020. Adwen's site in Bremerhaven will be retained for service activities. The job reductions have already been considered in SGRE’s global restructuring plans announced in November 2017, covering a reduction of 6,000 jobs in 24 countries over three years. The background of this decision is the previously announced change of the business model with a focus on servicing the installed Adwen wind turbines. Adwen will be functionally integrated into SGRE’s business unit Service and SGRE’s corporate functions, respectively. That job reduction is a further step in the announced restructuring process of Adwen that already included the discontinuation of the blade production in Stade.
