Copenhagen Infrastructure Partners has agreed to acquire Ørsted’s European onshore business, covering more than 800 MW of assets in operation and under construction, alongside a multi GW development pipeline. The portfolio spans Ireland, the UK, Germany and Spain and includes onshore wind, solar and battery energy storage systems projects.
The transaction covers 578 MW of operational capacity and a further 248 MW currently under construction, together with a multi GW pipeline of future developments. The agreed transaction value is € 1.44 billion, with closing expected in the second quarter of 2026, subject to regulatory approvals.
Following completion, the European onshore business will operate as a stand-alone entity under a new company name and brand. Ørsted will continue to own and operate its onshore business in the USA, which has been run separately since October 2025.
