Eiffage, through its Belgian subsidiary Smulders (part of Eiffage Métal), has signed an agreement to acquire 100% of HSM Offshore Energy. HSM Offshore Energy is an integrated provider of engineering, procurement, construction, installation, and commissioning (EPCIC) solutions, specialising in electrical and mechanical systems for offshore energy projects.
The company delivers multidisciplinary projects from design and engineering to offshore hook-up and commissioning. Founded in 1914, HSM Offshore Energy is based in the Rotterdam area and generates annual revenues of nearly €300 million, employing 140 people. The company and Smulders complement each other across the EPCIC value chain, particularly in supplying topsides for offshore wind farms and emerging energy markets.
Recently, Smulders and HSM Offshore Energy have collaborated on offshore renewable energy projects, integrating auxiliary and high-voltage equipment off the coasts of Germany and Belgium. The acquisition is subject to approval by competition authorities.
