Wilko de Jong will take up the role of Chief Operating Officer (COO) at Heerema Marine Contractors from 1 July. He has served as Deputy COO since 1 January 2026, working closely with current COO Michel Hendriks to ensure a structured handover and alignment on operational priorities. Michel Hendriks will remain a member of the Executive Board until 31 December in the role of Deputy COO, continuing to support the transfer of responsibilities and knowledge.
Wilko de Jong joined Heerema in 2004 as a junior engineer and has since held a range of roles across engineering, project delivery and leadership. He began his career working on offshore projects in the Gulf of Mexico/Gulf of America and Angola before moving into project management in Australia. He later led a project in Brazil and contributed to the development of an offshore wind farm project in Taiwan. During these assignments, he was based with his family in Houston and later in Taipei.
