A topping-out ceremony has been held for a new office building in Jemgum, East Friesland, which will house a wind control centre for RWE. From this site in the district of Leer, RWE will monitor and operate its current and future offshore wind farms in Germany and across continental Europe around the clock.
The building is being constructed by Real Immobilien, with RWE taking a long-term lease. Completion is expected by autumn 2025, after which technical equipment for the control room will be installed. The facility is scheduled to become operational in spring 2026 and will initially accommodate around 50 RWE employees. The two-storey building will provide approximately 1,120 square metres of space, including modern offices, meeting rooms, and a control room. The centre will oversee turbine operations, vessel movements, and electrical infrastructure such as offshore substations.
