According to Reuters, Siemens Gamesa, the wind turbine division of Siemens Energy, plans to cut 4,100 jobs, or around 15% of its workforce, as stated by the unit's Chief Executive Jochen Eickholt in a letter to staff.
“Our current situation demands adjustments that go beyond organisational changes. We have to adapt to lower business volumes, reduced activity in non-core markets, and a streamlined portfolio," Eickholt said in the letter. The job cuts plan follows recent restructuring announcements at Siemens Gamesa, which indicated that staff reductions would be necessary.
