Siemens Gamesa has begun production of 14MW offshore wind turbines at its new facility in Taichung, Taiwan. This expansion marks an important step in increasing wind energy manufacturing capabilities outside Europe.
The facility benefits from the transfer of production expertise from Europe, managed by skilled technicians. Vinod Philip, Executive Board Member of Siemens Energy and Executive Vice President of Wind Power, inaugurated the factory during his visit to the Asia-Pacific region. The new plant will be producing all 73 turbines needed for the 1,022MW Hai Long Offshore Wind Project.
