A consortium comprising pension fund ABP, pension investor APG, and wind energy developer SSE Renewables has signed a Realisation Agreement with Transmission System Operator TenneT for the Dutch offshore grid connection of the IJmuiden Ver Alpha wind farm. Located over 60 kilometres off the Dutch coast, this wind farm will be the first to be connected by TenneT using the new 2GW direct current standard and is expected to be commissioned by the end of this decade.

DeepOcean has been awarded a subsea survey contract for the Bałtyk 2 and 3 offshore wind developments in Poland, with Polish company Mewo acting as a subcontractor.

Buchan Offshore Wind, a 1GW floating offshore wind project located 75km northeast of Fraserburgh, has completed its metocean and LiDAR (light detection and ranging) surveys. Survey company Partrac recently recovered the project’s LiDAR and seabed instrumentation.

Iberdrola has inaugurated its operation and maintenance (O&M) centre in Saint-Brieuc, where 80 employees will be based. Located in Binic-Étables-sur-Mer, the centre manages electricity production and maintenance of the wind farm 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.

Cadeler has secured two contracts with undisclosed clients for its new wind installation vessel, Wind Mover. Currently under construction at Hanwha Ocean Shipyard in Korea, the vessel will support operations and maintenance (O&M) activities and potential installation work in Europe.
