California Community Power (CC Power), a Joint Powers Authority conducting joint power procurement for nine California Community Choice Aggregators (CCAs), and Cademo Corporation, a developer of a pioneering 60MW floating offshore wind project off the California coast, have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) to facilitate the advancement of Cademo’s project.
This MOU aims to establish a collaborative engagement between CC Power and Cademo to support the development of the Cademo project, set to become California’s first offshore wind project. The project will be situated off the coast of Vandenberg Space Force Base, near Lompoc, in California state waters, with a targeted commercial operation date in 2028. It is anticipated to feature four turbines, with a total capacity of 60 MW, generating around 200 GWh/year of zero-emission renewable energy.
