China Longyuan Power Group Corporation Limited has won two wind power projects in the third round of renewable energy project bidding initiated by the Ministry of Energy of South Africa with a total capacity of up to 244MW.
The two projects won by China Longyuan Power are located in North Cape Province of South Africa. The installed capacity of De Aar Phase I wind power project is 100MW and that of De Aar Phase II North District wind power project 144MW. They will be jointly developed by China Longyuan Power, Mulilo Renewable Energy Limited (in South Africa) and the Black Community Company where the project is located, with China Longyuan Power as the controlling shareholder. Financed by the local bank consortium of South Africa, the project adopts the 1.5MW wind turbine produced by Guodian United Power.
