Cowi has secured a contract from Thistle Wind Partners (TWP), a joint venture comprising Deme, Qair, and Aspiravi, focused on Scottish offshore wind development. The contract entails conducting a Pre-FEED (Front-End Engineering Design) study for TWP’s Ayre and Bowdun offshore wind farms.
These farms are slated for construction in 2029 and projected to generate over 2GW of energy by 2032-2033. Both projects were allocated during the ScotWind leasing round in 2022. The Ayre project, located east of Orkney, is a 1GW floating-foundation offshore wind farm, while Bowdun, a 1GW fixed wind project, is situated off the coast of Aberdeenshire. Cowi will deliver a Pre-FEED study integrating electrical and civil design elements for both projects.
