EEW SPC has completed the first of twelve monopile shipments for the Thor offshore wind farm at the port of Rostock, Germany. So far, 15 of the 36 monopiles being manufactured by the company have been collected. The remaining deliveries are scheduled to be completed by July 2025.
Each monopile is approximately 82 metres long and weighs around 1,300 tonnes. The Thor wind farm, developed by RWE, is located about 22 kilometres off the west coast of Jutland, Denmark, and will have a total capacity of approximately 1.1 GW once fully operational in 2027.
