Xinjiang Goldwind Science & Technology Co., Ltd. (Goldwind) has announced that it has entered into an agreement with China Three Gorges Corporation (Three Gorges) to provide Three Gorges’ first wind power project in Pakistan with 33 units of GW77/1500 high-temperature Permanent Magnet Direct Drive (PMDD) turbines.
The agreement also includes two years of operations and maintenance service. The project is located in Jhimpir, Sindh, Pakistan, which has varied weather with an average temperature of 27 degrees Celsius. The district is semi-arid and dusty. To withstand this environment, Goldwind’s R&D team has designed the GW77/1500 high-temperature unit for use in a temperature range of -20 to 45 degrees Celsius with a sealed, dust-proof design.
