Heerema Marine Contractors has signed a contract with TenneT to deliver a new float-over barge designed to install 2 GW offshore substations (OSS) weighing more than 30,000 tonnes.
The barge will support the installation of ultra-heavy topsides, including TenneT’s 2 GW topsides, helping to expand the Dutch and German electricity grids and connect offshore wind farms to the grid.
