Osbit, part of Venterra Group, has received a contract from NKT to design and build the NKT T3600 subsea cable trencher. The equipment will be used to install power cables for offshore renewable energy projects.
The NKT T3600, rated at 3,600 horsepower, will combine jetting and cutting tools to bury high-voltage cables at depths of up to 5.5 metres. The system, which will be designed and manufactured in the UK, will include a dedicated Osbit Launch and Recovery System to support safe deployment and retrieval. Delivery is expected in 2027.
