Scada International is selected by Siemens Energy to deliver their control solution, the OneView Energy Control Unit for the future 1GW Thor Offshore Wind Farm.
The master power plant controller will integrate with the existing plant infrastructure, both on- and offshore substations, SCADA systems, and grid meters. The integration and compatibility of the OneView ECU will allow end-user RWE to have granular control over voltage stability. The control system's algorithms continuously analyse voltage levels, giving operators tools to make data-driven decisions in maintaining optimal voltage conditions and protecting the integrity of the grid. The wind farm will be fully established and connected to the grid by no later than the end of 2027.
