Europe’s highest meteorological mast for wind measurement purposes will be erected this spring using CUE DEE K-system components.
The company Telecon in Motala, Sweden, has received this order from Fraunhofer IWF, a German research institute. The mast will be no less than 200 m high and situated in the Kassel region in central Germany. The wind force will be monitored in levels from 10 to 200 meters. It will be equipped with a total of 27 beams with meteorological sensors. Later it will be equipped with an optical wave measurement device LiDAR (applied on the mast top) for measurements up to 400 m. It will collect measurement data for five years. This effort is made in order to obtain accurate data about the wind conditions in low-mountain terrain.
