DeTect, Inc. has announced that it has received an order from the U.S Fish and Wildlife Service (USFWS) for two MERLIN Avian Radar Systems.
The bird radar systems will be delivered to the USFWS Great Lakes – Big Rivers Region 3 in March 2011 and will be primarily used by the service to assess and monitor bird and bat mortality risk from terrestrial and offshore wind farm development in the Great Lakes area. The MERLIN SS200e units will be equipped the latest solid-state Doppler radar sensors and bird detection software that were custom developed by DeTect specifically for detection and tracking of aerofauna.
