Van Oord has secured a contract from Copenhagen Infrastructure Partners (CIP) to install inter-array cables for the 500 MW Fengmiao 1 offshore wind farm, located about 35 kilometres off the coast of Taichung, Taiwan.
The project involves transporting, installing, and burying 33 inter-array cables with a total length of approximately 64 kilometres. Van Oord will deploy its cable-laying vessel *Nexus* and use a remote-controlled trencher to bury the cables to the required depth. The inter-array cable installation is scheduled to begin in 2027.
