Vard, a Norwegian subsidiary of the Fincantieri Group, has signed a contract for the design and construction of a bespoke Commissioning Service Operation Vessel (CSOV) for Navigare Capital Partners.
This contract was established in close collaboration with Norwind Offshore. In addition to this contract, Vard and Navigare Capital have agreed on two options, with the first expected to be declared later this year and the second in 2025.
The new vessel, based on the VARD 4 19 design, is scheduled for delivery in the second quarter of 2027 from Vard’s shipyard in Vung Tau, Vietnam. Tailored to support offshore wind farm operations, this vessel will be the sixth CSOV Vard has delivered to Norwind Offshore, alongside an Energy Construction Vessel and the conversion of a Platform Supply Vessel (PSV) into a Service Operation Vessel (SOV). The 85-meter-long vessel, with a beam of 19.5 meters, will feature advanced technology systems, including a height-adjustable motion-compensated gangway with an elevator system, a 3D crane, and a height-adjustable boat landing system, accommodating up to 87 personnel.
